What is the Community Nature Reserve?
The Sid Valley Community Nature Reserve is a valley-wide initiative bringing together residents, local groups, and organisations to turn our individual green spaces into a connected haven for local wildlife.
Nature doesn’t recognise property boundaries. When gardens are isolated, wildlife gets trapped, but when we join them up, we create vital wildlife corridors. This is what our Community Nature Reserve will achieve. Think of your space as an essential stepping stone—whether you have a sprawling garden, a humble allotment, a courtyard, or even a single window box, every square metre helps creatures like hedgehogs, songbirds, and pollinators move safely across the valley to feed, mate, and shelter.

- Managing a community patch or local green space? Register it!
- Not gardening for wildlife yet? That’s completely fine—join us to learn how to start!
How to Register Your Space
Joining is free, quick, and easy! You can sign up in two ways:
- Online (Fastest): Scan the QR code on our printed materials or visit our Registration Page to complete the digital registration form.
- On Paper: Fill out the registration form on our leaflet, detailing your green space and any wildlife features you have, and return it to us.
