Leader
Hello, I’m Clare Viner, I’ve been telling stories for over twenty years and have recently been working with stories to help us reconnect with rivers. In 2022 I led a story pilgrimage along the River Culm from source to confluence. I discovered stories about pixies and devils, King Arthur and several ladies with lanterns. There is a lost city on these hills according to the legends, not to mention the dragon….Most people know nothing about this landscape’s magical past. What is whispering right here in the Sidmouth landscape and in the River Sid? I believe that if we fall in love with our landscapes through stories, we will be more motivated to protect and save them.
Details
Clare will lead a workshop introducing how to find and weave stories from the landscape. This will be followed by an introduction to the art of storytelling led by Janet Dowling.
People attending the workshop need to have watched the storytelling performance at 11:30.

Please bring a notebook, pens and an open mind.
