Sid Valley Nature Festival: Explore, Discover, Protect
Join the Sid Valley Biodiversity Group for a day of celebrating nature! Perfect for families and individuals of all ages.

Activities
We are hosting a series of FREE fun activities from environmental organisations across the Sid Valley, designed to engage and educate visitors of all ages. Highlights include:
- Seed Swap .. bring your spare seeds and swap for something new
- Nature Trail and Guided Walks
- Wildlife Games and Identification
- Natural Materials Crafts
- Talks in the Tent
- Story Telling
- Meet our local Nature Groups
Special Performances and Workshops:
- 10:30 AM and 12:30 PM: Sidmouth Steppers
- 2:00 PM: Sidmouth Community Choir, led by Sarah Owen – Songs of Nature
- 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Guide Hut, Lawn Vista): Build your own bird/bat box to take home, led by Friends of The byes
- 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Clay + Flower craft with Ellie from The Byes Blooms
- 2.30 PM: Nature storytelling for all the family with World Storyteller David Heathfield.

Devon Wildlife Trust, Sidmouth Scouts, Sid Valley Catchment Group, Sidmouth in Bloom, Friends of The Byes, Community Action Group, Westcountry Rivers Trust, SVA, Sidmouth Arboretum, East Devon Seed Swap, Sidmouth School of Art, Devon Loves Dogs, EDDC, The Byes Blooms, Devon Bat Group, Sidmouth Library, Plastic Warriors and many others that support nature across the valley.
Information
Refreshments can be bought in the Guide Hut, Lawn Vista, or you are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy by the Byes. This event is for all ages – come along and discover the wonders of the Sid Valley!
Photographic Competition – Under 16’s results announced at 11am with Adult Winners being announced at the talk by Undersea Photographer Carol Harper in Kennaway House on Friday June 6th 2025 and on the website subsequently.
