2024 Has Seen A Lot Of River Activity As The River Sid Catchment Group Goes From Strength to Strength.
The highlight has been the publication of the Sid Catchment Plan which followed extensive poblic consultation with many local groups, organisations and residents. Monitoring of the river has contemned with no fewer than 47 river fly monitoring sessions, plus 102 water quality surveys conducted by a growing number the 200+ community members.
Results from all the Citizen Science tests and surveys are publicly available and can be used by environmental and other professionals worldwide.
The Fish Lift has continued pending further consideration of the many weirs on the river, not least school weir with its massive level change that prevents migratory fish moving upstream.
SVBG is a not for profit organisation dependant on volunteers, grants and donations. Without funding we cannot operate and many of our biodiversity projects will cease.
